"Create" ... Buttery Breadsticks

Okay...low-cal, they aren't -- Easy to make they are -- Melt in your Mouth Amazing -- Oh yeah!

Buttery Breadsticks
Makes 24 breadsticks

24 Rhodes White Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
Garlic salt

Pour melted butter on an 11 x 17-inch baking sheet. Roll each roll into a 6-inch rope and then roll in butter until completely coated. Place cheese in separate bowl and roll buttered breadstick in cheese. Place breadsticks on baking sheet in 2 vertical rows of twelve each. Sprinkle with garlic salt, if desired. Cover loosely with plastic wrap.
Let rise until double in size. Carefully remove wrap and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
** These are quite buttery so you could cut the butter down to 1/4 cup and they'd still be good.

"Create" ... Thinking of You Card

I made this using the Cricut Lite "Live Simply" cartridge.

It was hard for me to see the intricate cuts for the center of the flowers on the instruction folder (I must be getting old), so I did the best I could. The flowers are the Flowers3 design cut at 3.75.

So I guessed and I think it turned out pretty close.

A little ribbon...a sentiment...a tiny brad...

a little something for the inside...

and you have a finished card. This was a fun cartridge to work with.

"Create" ... Brown Mushroom Sauce

We love this sauce served with our favorite BBQ steaks.  The sauce is so easy to make and is so full of flavor.  You'll be lickin' the bowl clean.

Brown Mushroom Sauce

2 portabello mushroom or 8 oz. button mushrooms
1 t. minced garlic
3/4 c. beef broth
2 tbs steak sauce (we like A-1)
2 tsp cornstarch

Slice mushrooms and saute with olive oil and garlic. Cook until they start to soften but not mushy.  Mix broth, cornstarch and steak sauce in a bowl and add to mushrooms and cook until thick. Serve over BBQ steak.  Serves about 4-6.

"Create" ... "Cards for Monique" campaign

"Cards for Monique" is a campaign put out there by Robyn at for us to send pink cards to Monique Griffith who is fighting breast cancer.  It's times like this that you can feel so close to someone you haven't even met.  One of the many upsides of the scrapbooking/Cricut community.  So, Monique, this is going into the mail right now for you.  You are an inspiration to many.  Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family through this battle that you will conquer.

What I did:

Paper:  My Minds Eye, paper is thin so I cut it on depth=4, speed=4, pressure=4
Cricut cut:  Lacy Labels, Adore #33 w/ Shadow and Layer  (I used my gypsy to get the size I needed)

Ribbon and Pearl Accent

Sentiment printed on computer using Freehand 591 Font, Size 24 pt, printing on Best setting

Outside:  Sometimes we just need to know that people care
Inside:  If this is one of those times, I'm one of those people!

Some strips of the dotted paper used on the front is carried through to the inside.

This was made with love Monique!

"Create" ... ZooBalloo Helpful Hands

My "Throwback Thursdays" entry at My Creative Time with Emma.  I dusted off ZooBalloo and became reacquainted with it again.  Thought I'd make a Thank You for someone who is always willing to help.

This is the octopus (obvisously, HA HA) cut at 3".  I also cut the silhouette to add some dimension.  I added some dots with a while jelly pen.  The face is from the Critters stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps.

The top of the card is shorter than the back so the strip of paper on the inside can show through.

The saying was generated on my computer, printed out on scrap paper and then I taped my pattern paper on top and reprinted.  Hope that made sense.

A heart brad was added to express an extra touch of love.

"Create" ... a 'Bloom'-in Card

This BLOOM card was made from the Bloom Cricut Lite cartridge.  This was my first project from the cart. and I think it will be a fun one.

The paper is from My Minds Eye.  This is a 4" cut of the Tree1 image.

The ribbon is from s.e.i.

I added strips to the inside to dress it up a little. The edges are inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tea Dye.

There's a spot at the bottom that I could add a sentiment, depending on the occasion, if I wanted.

"Create" ... the Best Sweet & Spicy Sweet Potatoes

These are a must try.  If you love sweet potatoes, you HAVE to try these.  If you don't like sweet potatoes, you DEFINATELY have to try these.  There's something about roasting them that add a whole wonderful layer of flavor.  Honest -- you won't be disappointed.

Sweet & Spicy Sweet Potatoes

3 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut in 1" cubes (about 6 c.)
2 tbs evoo
2 tbs brown sugar
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Toss together in bowl and spread on a large cookie sheet in a single layer.  Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 40-45 min, stir every 15 min.

I got this recipe from Recipezaar (one of my favorite-go-to sites for recipes).  It is recipe #37106.
Sooooooo good.  I think I'll go make some right now.

"Create" ... a "With Sympathy" card

I wanted a sympathy card to reflect peace and serenity and so I used a tone-on-tone effect.

This is the inside of the card.
I inked the edges using a foam applicator in circular motions, which gives it a soft look.

The image is the Vine5 cut from the Cricut Lite Botanicals Cartridge.  I cut the image plus the shadow.

The image is raised by using 3-D glue dots.

"Create" ... many "Purse"-sonal Invitations

I needed 120 invitations for an activity at our church. I made these purses to go with the theme, but printed the info. on the paper first. Here's how --

First, I designed a 8 ½ x11 template on my gypsy using the Paisley cartridge. The purse is the Purse2 cut, which I hid the lines inside, and the flower is the Clothes3 cut using the Button feature. I was able to fit 3 purses on one piece of paper.

I then cut a template with plain paper.

On a word processing program, I designed the party information measuring to hopefully fit into my template. I printed out this information.

Holding my printed paper behind the white template, I was able, with some tweeking, line it up.

I then took my double-sided paper and ran it through my printer, printing the information on the plain side. Because of the layout of my template, I then ran these papers through my Cricut, printed side down.

As you can see, it turned out perfectly. Yeah!!!

I’m not sure if I’ll keep them monochromatic, or interchange the colors.

120 cut and ready for assembling…then delivery!! I sure love my CRICUT!!

"Create" ... "Sweet Baby" Card

I made this simple card for Throwback Thursday at "My Creative Time with Emma".

I used the rattle cut at 4" on the New Arrival cartridge.  The paper is SEI and the punch is Martha Stewart's Scallop Dot.  The rattle is embossed with the Argyle Cuttlebut embossing folder.
